46-year-old San Antonio resident suffered non-life-threatening injuries Wednesday morning while crossing Loop 410, she was impacted by a tractor-trailer headed in the south bound lane.
According to Sgt. Daniel Gonzales, the woman had been driving a silver Hyundai sedan around 9 a.m. When she stopped on the shoulder of south-bound Loop 410 near W.W. White Road.
S.A.P.D. officers aren’t sure why the woman attempted to cross the main lanes of the highway, Gonzales said.
The tractor-trailer had made an attempt to stop before striking the woman but, failed to do so.
The woman spoke only Spanish so police had limited communication with her before she was transported to University Hospital.
Police are still investigating the crash and have closed lanes of Loop 410 near the accident.
Police said they will refer the woman for psychiatric evaluation.
